RE-ENTRY SURVEY RESULTS 2021 – REPORT CHART
1. When do you think it is safe to re-enter for worship service?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
Would like for Salem to assign members to worship in groups and groups will social distance, if someone gets Covid in the group the groups can be contacted to be tested and social distance at home. Not sure how many groups can be social distance at church but other members can watch service virtually. This is how my employer is keeping me safe, I work with a few people in the office, few days I work from home. If someone infected in the group I work with we test and social distance and the other group handles the work in office and if you are social distance you work virtual until you get the ok to return to work |
After Professional Cleaning the Sanctuary; the numbers are decreasing on a regular basics... |
I think it's safe when our pastors and the CDC say it's safe. |
Probably will not return. |
AS SOON AS THE LORD PUT IT IN YOUR SPIRIT, YOU ARE THE LEADER MOSES AND WE WILL FOLLOW. WE WILL NOT NEGLECT THE ASSEMBLY OF THE SAINTS. |
When more people have been vaccinated and can provide proof prior to entering the church. |
NOW! Because they have the vaccinations... Time to get back to church. We are traveling and doing other things, but don’t want to go to open the church doors. Restaurant, movies, malls, airports etc are open, but NOT CHURCH ? |
When we reach Herd Immunity. |
I won't feel comfortable returning until we hv conquered th curve. |
In June |
When numbers have dropped and Herd immunity is reached. |
For our house, a combination of factors need to be considered, CDC Guidelines, as well as monitoring other risk considerations such as the other dangerous variants circulating in the state and if numbers are trending in the right direction. |
Asking God to show us when, I know He will. Really missing our fellowship. |
When we reach herd immunity and CDC says it is okay. |
I would say that now is the best time to return to worship in time because it is warmer outside and now with the Covid-19 vaccine being available to the public . |
I am under the powerful leadership of Sr. Pastor, Dr. Joe, and Pastor Emeritus Jasper Williams,..... Their spiritual guidance, I trust won't fail the body of Christ. For this reason, I'm open to their decision when it's best for return. |
When the numbers have dropped and remain low |
Next year. It depends on the conditions of where we are with COVID. |
Although I am ready to return now, I will support your leadership on when you feel that it is safe to return. |
Now |
2. Once our church re-opens, what best describes your attitude towards returning to worship service?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
I may wait a couple of weeks before I return. |
I am between the first two options, but am realistic that everyone's vaccination status may not be validated unless there will be a plan in place to do this. I realize that this is a delicate and sensitive topic as I had my own concerns and still due regarding the safety of the vaccines, but ultimately decided to get the vaccine after researching pros/cons and praying that I made the right decision. Irrespective of the vaccines, everyone attending any services should be REQUIRED to wear a mask at ALL times in conjunction with ALL other sanitation and safety measures. Ultimately, I think re-entry does not need to be premature even though we know what a LONG journey this has been thus far. At least now with new leadership in the Whitehouse, things are moving in the right direction. On the other hand, we have to be cautious of recommendations coming down from at the state level, ESPECIALLY with the governor of GA (nothing else needs to be said here - I will spare you my diatribe)! We as a society need to be prudent, steered by science-driven, fact-based and common sense regarding re-entry. |
Depends on when we decide to re-open; if herd immunity has not been reached, it should open with safeguards and social distancing. |
Base on history with my Church home, my Pastors, will assure that all proper measures are in place. |
I will return when the church has safeguards in place and has practiced those safeguards (I.E. social distancing and limited number of attendees). |
I am ready to return. Conditions must be better than where we are currently. |
I believe that we can reopen with CDC guidelines in a gradual approach to opening. Maybe we return on 3rd Sundays t get congregates trained on the protocols |
Now, no safeguards. |
3. In addition to local and state bans on worship gathering being lifted, are there other events that would impact your return to worship?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
The state is making poor choices by increasing the number of people in restaurants. The new strands of the virus have left the country in a state of uncertainty. God has given us the gift of wisdom in making decisions. It is simply unwise at this time to move forward with opening church, which put members and their families at risk. Virtual is more logical and wiser for the foreseeable future. There are many unstable people in society that are killing vast numbers of people. There is nothing preventing an unstable person from entering our church. It is wiser to wait till God tells us that all is well than to jump the gun by re-entering a building. The church is within us. |
In returning, temps are checked, each individual shows copy of Vaccine Card, and Social Distancing are done in Sanctuary... |
Covid 19 numbers need to go down alot more before I attend service. |
I FEEL IF STRICT GUIDELINES ARE IN PLACE .AND PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS IS A TIME TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT OTHERS AS WELL AS THEMSELVES GOD WILL HONOR US IF YOU ARE SICK STAY AT HOME AND FOLLOW COVID19 GUIDELINES. |
The crowds seem to spike up the virus and it's variants |
I prefer to return when herd immunity has been reached and CDC says it is okay. |
Question #2 answer #3 |
No, my returning to worship service is not determined by what the world is doing or saying. |
I am ready now with proper guidelines. |
Both options being available to the congregation. The one who are comfortable with face to face, do so, and the ones who are more comfortable with remaining home, do so. Social distance mitigation in place for social distance. Free will God gave. He will do the rest. |
Personal comfortability with being in group settings. |
None |
Masks and Social distancing with seating and all activities should be requirements. |
How committed to rules and medical measurements are followed by leadership and membership! |
4. What precautions, if any, do you expect our church to take for worship service?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
There are too many risk to consider going into a church at this time. Regardless of any precautions taken. It is unwise. Virtual is safer and wiser. |
Encourage masks for all parishioners |
Masks |
If the numbers are way down according to the CDC, companies-restaurants are operating at near or normal capacity and COVID cases are at an all time low rate, deaths are rare; my expectations are to try and worship in a normal way as possible with some cautionary measures. It will be a very difficult challenge to be in service within a sanctuary of a church and be afraid to simply touch one another. I don’t mentally know how we would worship without the fellowship and in fear! Every parent will need to keep their own babies as the nursery would closed, and older children should be monitored by their parents within the sanctuary. The construction-design of our churches with the current programs we have in place would prove to be unaccommodating when we and if we return any time soon. Social distancing would be virtually impossible without a well coordinated structured layout for gathering. It will be very stressful to try to worship the Lord and be afraid of my sister or brother who may be a few seats away from me. I may as well stay in sanctity of my home and worship, and to continue not to go anywhere. |
Gloves for church workers and members if requested. |
Parking lot Ministry/Worship |
ALL IS FINE, THE HAND OUTS AND LORDS SUPPER USHERS SHOULD WEAR GLOVES. |
Make sure sanctuary and vents are cleaned by a professional company |
Encourage vaccines Not just encourage social distancing, ensure seating is set up for social distancing. |
Handouts can be distributed safely if perhaps a gloved Usher can either have materials in seats prior to any service or hand out as parishioners enter or leave (whichever is most feasible). I think it would be better not to circulate things once service begins. |
Implement, rather than encourage, social distancing. Require face masks prior to church entry |
Sanitize Thoroughly, Shampoo Carpets, Keep Church Cleaner Than Before. |
Prefer to remain virtual. |
All the above if herd immunity has not been met and CDC has not said it was okay. |
I will be comfortable with the decision of the church. |
Wear masks No long term congregating/conversations |
Any handouts should occur by church officials with gloves. |
Maybe we keep virtual standards as much as possible. The biggest accomplishment would be the presence of the people coming together safely. We have proven that we can do most of the worship items virtually. |
Set reservations for service, only a certain amount of worshipers may enter. First come first serve. Elders automatic. |
Discourage hugs for now |
Masks should remain on at all times. Members who are feeling ill should be encouraged to stay home. |
None. |
Sanitizing doors knobs and handles, bathrooms, etc frequently. Everyone must wear mask. Walking to tithe and offering containers instead of passing offering pans. |
I believe God is the vaccine. And we will know. |
when we have no covid19 cases we can trust and resume to fellowship as usual |
Congregation should register to attend services to maintain a safe number of attendance to support social distancing. Take temperature of everyone entering and those that are febrile, will be prevented from entering. Since warmer weather is approaching, suggest outdoor services in cars, to bring the congregation together again. |
5. What precautions do you plan to take when you return to sanctuary worship?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
Not returning in the near future. What about our seniors and children? Returning is failing to exercise good judgment |
Wear my church gloves as well, also, if the environment is such that we are still in such state of a health crisis. As social human beings—while in church, I don’t know how you would give assistance to your neighbor who may have an emotional moment and be afraid of touching whether you have gloves, mask or not! |
No singing |
I will not go back in the choir right away |
What about the kids( nursery/kids ministries)? |
I checked my preferences, but it will take a lot of discipline to do these things, I will follow our Pastors guidelines. |
I think there should be spacings between seating. I was at a church for a funeral recently and there were designated signs to show where you could and could not sit. |
Prefer to remain virtual. |
All the above if herd immunity has not been reached and CDC has not said it is okay |
I plan to take the precaution by respecting others' concerns and space.......This entails, the guidelines we are currently under, in addition to this, anything additional I can do to make others comfortable. |
Anything that will help us to be safe. Put envelopes, Communion, handouts etc in a place where we can pick up ourselves, And drop off Tithe & Offerings!! |
I will take all precautions until things return to normal. It is time to return responsibility to the sanctuary. If after social distance precautions are put into place is full, open balcony. Nothing is more important to reopening than social distance. |
Same. |
In faith when the gifted Dr, and CDC advise it is safe, I will be ready to fellowship |
Unsure at this time I am concerned about the risk with my health condition. Virtually will work for me. I will still support the church. |
6. Do you have children age 18 or younger who live with you and typically attend church with you?
7. Would you allow your child(ren) to attend their small group where it typically meets?
8. What precautions, if any, do you expect the church to take in children’s and youth ministry when they resume?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
9. Which of the following describes the attendance level at which you would be comfortable attending a worship service?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
Each Salem member has number, my suggestion is post the members number as to which Sunday to be in worship service and that Salem can accommodate safely |
I simply miss being in church. The crowd size does not really bother me as long as we have our mask on and practice social distance. |
If the CDC has given the green light for the complete opening; serious thought given by the pastors and staff to how we will come together, I trust that I will be find with taking my own precautionary measures as well. |
reasonable estimated measurement of actual seating in space then seat label on both sides like the ones on floors or some restaurants n marta |
I attend remotely. |
SAFE DISTANCE. |
The church is never at full Capacity anyways, so we should have more than enough space to spread out. Even if we have to us the balcony that we NEVER use. |
Distance between our seats - no one immediately beside/behind or in front of me (i.e., on my row, I would want at least a distance of 2-4 seats spacing before the next person is seated. I would prefer for there to be an empty row in front and behind the row I'm seated on). This would probably be easier to implement at the Lithonia campus but I'm sure similar safeguards can be managed at the Atlanta campus as well. |
I will only attend one service. Longer time periods I believe will increase the possible risk of exposure. |
Indicate with signs seating to ensure social distancing |
To Fellowship with my Brother and Sister |
Parking Lot Church Church ONLY at Stonecrest Location, Open the Balcony & Social Distance |
Use every row but stagger people. |
If herd immunity has not been reached and CDC has not said it is okay, none of the above. |
I'm comfortable with what my Pastors are comfortable with. |
If the sanctuary is marked so that people are sitting at least 6 feet apart from one another unless it is family. Another option is a limited number of people in attendance. Also that all the bays are opened during both services. |
Don't see how to get around this |
Balcony is open to accommodate social distance once preaching begins. |
I would be comfortable if every other row was filled. |
Same as above answer. |
10. When our local government lifts its ban or guidance against public gatherings, which of the following would you prefer for our church?
SURVEY COMMENTS |
---|
Continue live streaming until it is safer to return. |
Have 1 service every Sunday. Start outside while weather is warm first. The Eastside location is large enough to spread members out when we go into the sanctuary to limit the service to 1 |
None of the above. Virtual only. |
Have parking lot services before sanctuary services start again. |
When Pastor feel the church is ready to be open up. |
Wait a while longer and watch for the numbers to see if they go up or down |
Continue with online streaming for now. |
80% congregation vaccinated |
We should still practice safety since COVID can still be transmitted despite being vaccinated or having the OK from our government. |
Neither option is one I will do at this time I will continue virtual service |
I would still like the options to either attend church at either 8:00 a.m. or 11:00 services of your choice or view the service virtually on line. |
Zoom meeting seems effective |
Separation and distance is important. Partitions needed. Choir members MUST BE SEPARATED AND PROTECTED FROM SPREADING WHEN SINGING |
Will wait a few weeks only if the reopening plan of the church is not yet complete and has not been verbalized to all members or congregants. |
Parking Lot service until majority of congregation is vaccinated. |
I would prefer a drivein church service in the parking lot for a couple of months |
Parking lot ministry. |
Ventilation systems |
continue as we are until our pastors feel it's safe. |
Resume in person worship when federal government lift bans, gives guidance and guidelines. |
Cautiously resume in person gathering. |
In person meetings should not resume until the number of cases go down. |
RETURN TO WORSHIP SERVICE IMMEDIATELY OR MEET IN SMALL GROUPS IN HOMES FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS.. ONE WILL PUT A THOUSAND TO FLIGHT AND TWO WOULD PUT TEN THOUSAND TO FLIGHT, THAT 'S FIVE TIMES THE POWER. IT IS TIME TO GATHER TOGETHER AND ASK THE LORD'S BLESSING. |
What about some parking lot service while we’re waiting to go back? |
Some additional restrictions are put forth. |
Continue virtual service, people will be singing in church beside you and that is not safe, mask should be required . local government does not know what they are doing, they ar lifting restrictions too early . |
Depending what the CDC is recommending. |
Spacing |
Follow the science, not government. |
Assess/Evaluate if federal guidelines are in line with local recommendations to ensure all facts are in order and go with what seems practical. The leadership at Salem is great and I love the proactive and broad approach being under taken to ensure everyone's safety first and foremost rather than blindly mimicking what everyone else is doing! Perhaps, there can even be a phased reentry approach - communication will be key. |
outdoor service in parking lot, with option to remain in cars. I would not feel comfortable meeting in homes. |
Keep the service virtual a little while longer. |
Limited attendance perhaps through an rsvp system to ensure social distancing |
Question what if we continue online worship and come in person quarterly in line with sacrificial Sunday until the end of the year. |
When the leaders of the have all the data on Covid and think it is safe for the members. |
To continue to worship online for a few more weeks. |
Continue online worship services until the 4th wave is over. Use registration to limit/control the number of congregants for each service. Require masks for all who enter. |
Drive Up Church for Several Weeks First. Then Social Distance Church |
At the present, it seems that our local government is not following CDC guidelines, therefore we must follow CDC guidelines. I am willing to attend in person services, with social distancing, wearing mask, along with allowing people to be more spread out in the sanctuary. |
Some of our government officials are not abiding by CDC guidelines so we need to be cautious about what they suggest but use more common sense. There are a number of people who refuse to get vaccinated and I know you can't force them to do it, but I am not comfortable being around people who refuse to be vaccinated so as a result, we all need to continue wearing masks. |
None of these |
begin with a small percentage of worshipers with contact tracing. determining if worshipers are getting ill would be a priority. in addition, perhaps the elder generation should be encouraged to attend after at least 2 months without a breakout of illness. |
Continue with zoom (power groups), virtual sermon/activities and drive thru pick ups of information. |
I prefer Salem to follow CDC guidelines |
Limit the number of people. Have sign up for services. Show vaccination card. Have areas for people to sit that have not been vaccinated. |
None of the above. State governments have been making poor decisions despite the science. Their decisions largely are based on economics rather than personal safety. Not unsympathetic to economics but to resume gatherings w/o restriction is in poor judgement and foolhardy. We do not want to start this process all over again. I am tired of being isolated and practically quarantined! And want to follow the guidelines and get past it. I believe CDC compliance is the best way to do that. I understand that some Asian countries have little to no spread due to having hunkered down and mandated its citizens to fully comply with all of the guidelines and as a result have been rewarded for their compliant behavior. |
Virtual service |
Prefer to remain virtual. |
#9 answers #10 |
Resume if numbers are low |
resume with mask and social distancing |
Not to listen to the government but take into consideration your congregants and their needs and develop a plan or system that works for your church. |
Resume In person worship Service at our church immediately. Church members will decide individually if it is safe for them, in the same manner that they decide for everything else. The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom to know if the local government interests is for our benefit or for other benefit. |
I will support and depend on your leadership and guidance |
To wait until covid numbers are extremely low are non-existant. |
Hybrid...small groups and parking lot worship as we transition & phase-in to house service with 1/2 capacity, monitor then next capacity, etc.. |
Begin with 25% capacity. As number falls increase capacity to 50% and so on..... |
Service groups only |
give option of virtual worship and in person worship |
Why would I want people in my home. We need to start with phases and staggered worship services lasting 1hr. |
11. Would you be willing to attend a worship service at a different time than you typically attend to allow people to be more spread out in the sanctuary?
12. How long have you been attending?
13. What is your age?
14. Would you be willing to complete an on-line registration and answer pre-screening questions to be allowed to enter in-person worship service?
ADDITIONAL COMMENT
ADDITONAL COMMENT |
---|
You need to be more vocal about encouraging members to get vaccinated. It’s been pretty irresponsible on your part for not being more vocal about it. |
HIPPA laws protects every entity from requirements of providing health information. Skipped rows and seating; dismissal of rows as well as guided seating will be my suggestion. |
I’m ready! Vaccinated and masks are on. |
I feel that normalcy will be a ways off. It will take more than two years to see an almost fully recovery. |
Temperature check on every one. Hand sanitizer when you enter. |
We are all safer virtually. |
I would love to return to the sanctuary but I want it to be safe for my family as well as others. It would be unfortunate to restart then have to stop again after we have made adjustments to the virtual services. Even when we are back to our new normal, I think we should still consider how to continue some things virtually like Bible Study and Groups. Technology is the way of the future and we have been forced to embrace it so we should keep some of that momentum. |
Thank you Pastor Joe and staff far give us the opportunity to give our comments. Many Many Blessing to you all. |
This survey is a great idea. I think it would be great if there were a few people selected to enforce any protocols that are put in place. |
Non-contact thermal imaging temperature cameras are really great. We use them before entering the building at work. (safe, fast, and accurate) |
I feel confident that our church will have all necessary safety precautions in place when we do return. |
I am in prayer about retuning to in service worship, at this time large gathering not knowing the unknown is something I do not do. I have many family gatherings weddings that are coming up I am choosing not to attend due this plague is deadly. But of course Jesus our Savior has extended Grace to me (us) so I pray that Jesus guide me through daily making the right decisions. |
I am so ready for in-person worship service. I miss seeing the congregants and my pastors. I am also going to miss all the saints we have lost since we were last in the sanctuary. |
Keep trusting God to let us know when we will return |
wee |
I Would Love To Even Have Worship NOW....Even If It Meant Having Service Outside In The Parking Lot, It Is Big Enough and We Could Definitely Be Socially Distanced. We Could Sit In Our Cars or Bring Our Own Chairs. It Could Bring A Sense of Normalcy. And You All Could Perhaps Have An Outside Stage Setup or Something. Especially Now That It's Warming Up. I Miss My Church Family. |
none at the present time, |
None at this time. |
We must continue to social distance. The facts are not completely known so we cannot be laxed with our cautionary steps. We must continue to practice safety and cautions |
Please keep family members and spouses together if they attend, do-not separate Never a good idea to crowd members for camera purposes. |
Honestly I trust you all to keep us safe and whatever you decide I will support! |
I really miss attending church, but these are different times that we are living in, no respect for one another, we must stay safe no matter what others are doing wrong. |
Although I miss our physical worship service, I hope that the re-entry planning committee will take our preferences/suggestions, CDC guidelines, and trending of the COVID-19 into careful consideration. I also hope that you will remember the elderly and those with underlying conditions as you plan, perhaps including a way to continue to involve those who may not be able to return to church. |
I think me and my family will feel more secure to worship in-person when CDC guidelines, and Dr. Fauci says that it is safe to do so, and/or the positivity rate is down to 5%, or less. I do not trust what my state government says about lifting restrictions. I would love to come back and worship in-person, however, I am not willing to put me or my family at risk. I will continue to tithe and worship on-line. Thank you for this survey! |
I look forward to our Church opening. Thank you. |
Thanks for sending this survey; I am confident that Salem Bible Church leadership will do what is best to keep their members safe. |
There would be no reason I would not do this for my safety and the safety of my sisters and brothers. It has been done in organizations and I’ve done it already because we’ve been in this pandemic. Therefore, anything to make it more comfortable and safe for others!!! |
It would also be nice if the church would consider worship while members sit in their cars. |
Will there be any type of sanitizing of the sanctuary\classrooms\church between services? Will there be any type of COVID Air Purifier Systems installed in the church? |
I am ready to be back in church, but I am thankful and grateful for online worshiping! |
God Blessings |
I pray that we do whats best and necessary to be safe for all of us...amen Thank you ???❤ |
I would like to see one service at 10 or 11 am until the number go down at both locations. I would like for the different ministries to continue virtual meetings. If possible I would like another leadership team meeting before returning to worship. |
Stay prayed up and put it in the hands of the Lord and our pastors since they are our leaders. |
I think it is too soon. I say maybe wait until we get through the summer months. I am still nervous about Covid-19 and the fact that a lot of people have not gotten vaccinated. I miss my church family. What about having service in the parking lot. The church could consider having Sunday service outside. Thanks |
The ventilation system is important |
I think the best time to re-enter is when over 80% of people are vaccinated. |
Attending church service would be easier if it were held in the lower parking lot (behind the church) and we were allowed to remain in our vehicles. |
I will be excited going back in the sanctuary seeing all the Salem family and feeling the spirit of love and joy on their faces. I have both of my shots and I will also wear a mask. I am sure that the leadership of the church will will do an outstanding job in seating us when we return. I know that they will pray about it and God will work it out. I have been a member for 47 years and I trust Salem for the safety of me and my family. |
Thank you for taking the time to get information from you members. It is important that people feel safe. Although we miss the true experience of the sanctuary, people still have their hesitations. I look forward to being there again. |
I will always seek GOD for my answer regarding returning to church. GOD Bless!!!! |
I like to be apart of the planning committee to safely return to church. |
Check for vaccinations documentation before entering . |
I miss my Salem family. My sister passed due to complications related to Covid. Several family members have contracted this disease. We must be safe. It hits different when it’s family. I’m still worried even with my second vaccine done. Not ready yet. |
Church consideration for other in person worship service, i.e., parking lot service. |
Based on past experiences, I trust the judgement of our Church Leaders. |
I would prefer to have on line service to continue in conjunction to in person worship. I think we should have a choice of both. Would it be possible to alternate Sundays with on line and in person? I think alternating services will still keep the church functioning efficiently. |
Anything you can do to promote our safety is what I expect. |
Encourage people to bring own sanitizers, but ok with church supplying. Utilize up Stairs and downstairs to keep people 3 ft/3 seats apart. No congregating in lobby people can do outside. All wear mask. One way in and one way out. Ok with elbow bumps inside. I have no fear of touching paper, communion cups, people can wear gloves or self sanitize afterwards. All must wear mask while waiting to enter sanctuary. Choir 3 seats apart, no problems with ushers, etc. |
Just want to be sure that everyone is kept safe |
I have taken the vaccination and I know a lot of people have not made up their minds. Hopefully our church will at the time of re-entry will have taken these precaution and get vaccination. |
I would first like to say that I have and still do enjoy Our WONDERFUL Online Worship Services that we have had for the past year. I also would like to Thank and Applaud Our Pastors, Staff, and our Media Team for going over and above, working hard, and doing everything to providing us with Great Services each and every Sunday. With that being said I must say that I am Both Anxious and Excited about the RE-ENTRY Process!!!! I have truly truly been missing you all and Fellowshipping with all of my Church Family! I am Soooo READY TO RETURN when it is SAFE! and I am 100% willing to do and follow whatever rules and procedures are put in place to keep us all SAFE and PROTECTED! Thank You! |
None |
I AM VISITING SEVERAL CHURCHES, I HAVE NOT MADE MY MIND UP AS TO WHICH CHURCH TO JOIN AS YET, |
Why not have service in the parking lot for a while before opening up the church, people either sit in their cars or sit in lawn chairs in front of their cars. And have 2 deacon or ushers on each row and when the people drive out they can drop their tithes and offering in a Ben. Just a thought! |
Before we left last year the 2 outer bays were roped off, so I think we should: 1) open those bays up 2) seat every other pew 3)only seat family members together, and or if they came in together 4)mask wearing a must (have disposable to give if a person don’t have) |
Utilizing the balcony would help with spreading the population apart and perhaps combining to have one service at 10:30 a.m. I would like to understand how the suggestions will be applied to the youth church, workers and babies. |
I know we are the temple/the church but there is something special to be said about the saints gathering in God’s House and I can’t wait!!!! |
think this year is still too soon to enter the sanctuary. unless everyone has been vaccinated, a nd still think there should not be any hugging or close contact at this point. The virus is all alive and well. |
Parking Lot services should be considered. |
I will be happy to resume attendance but have high risk people in my home so want o exercise caution. My household has not been able to receive vaccination as of yet but are trying to get on the list. |
I would like to suggest that we start having one service person Sunday until the pandemic is over. 10:00 to 12:00. |
I have enjoyed virtual church, Bible study, Sunday school and special events. I am able to attend all of them. Although I miss my Church family I feel safer at home. I pray I will be able to continue virtually even if we reopen. Thanks you. |
Thanks Lord, let's go! |
Prior to COVID-19, my family was doing the online worship services; which were very benefical for us at the time due to family members health issues. Online services are excellent. However, occassionally we would come in person. Thank you all so much for your dedication, commitment, and services for individuals with medical issues. |

I have been doing the online church due to health issues and it has been very beneficial! Thank you all for your commitment and GOD bless!????? |
Thanks for asking. |
Thank you my Pastors for all that you have done and continue to do, being able to use technology to communicate ,has truly been a blessing to me, all the materials provided to us is very useful . I truly miss assembling for worship, put so thankful to our Pastors for your leadership in decisions as we seek God’s guidance on how or when we should return to our beloved Salem. Sincerely, Mother Daisy Taylor. |
we would consider attending an outside service, in the car, or open area, lawn chairs, 6 ft apart, possible early morning before it gets too hot outside, with access to restroom only, No prolonged gathering inside, just use of restroom and immediately return back outside, limited number of people at one time. We have attended a few outside church services here in Snellville last year and this year and it has been nice and it was a small but nice turn out. I wish you would consider OUTSIDE |
My concern is that some have already decided not to take the vaccine, and yet can how can you say no to attending worship service. I believe all safety precautions should be in place because of this. Secondly, longer contact means greater exposure risk, so serving more than one service will no longer be an option for me. I believe the online service should remain an option. |
It’s to soon the numbers are up lot of people don’t have the shot what about Visitors wife and I not comfortable maybe next year for me it’s a no show |
Having a parking lot service several weeks before we return to the sanctuary. Making it mandatory to have the vaccine shot before we all return to church. |
I have concerns about the Atlanta campus building ventilation system due to its age. |
Thanks for allowing the membership to have input into the re-entry process. What considerations have you given to how choir singers/praise team will be situated? |
Elements for the Lord’s Supper can be picked upon entry into the sanctuary. Tithes and offerings can be collected upon entry and exiting the sanctuary or electronically. Both these would eliminate touching by numerous people. |
When it is safe as possible please keep the online worship |
Perhaps there could be drive-up services as weather permits. |
Maybe parking lot worship service can transition back to in church worship service. |
I feel, when the leaders of the church have all the information (positive) on Covid-19 and the surveys of the members. Then, I think a decision can be made on us returning to worship. |
I will continue to worship from home until COVID is completely gone. |
Thanks for the survey. I'm a senior that has pre-existing conditions and don't want to put myself or others in jeopardy by going back to early. I really miss being in church but I'm happy for technology, the church and technology team for all their work to bring services every week. |
I am a choir member and I highly encouraged that we excercise additional precautions while singing. |
I am ready to attend and I miss my church/pastors and family so much, however I will continue to take precautions. I took my last vaccinated on 4-3-21. I just want to be sure that everyone else has also. I will continue to virtually worship until. Peace and blessings to all. |
When decisions are made let members no exactly what procedures are in place before we walk in church |
Parking lot services Temperature screenings for children attending |
Additional comment |
Ensure all SBC seniors the accessibility to complete and provide input into this survey because coming back to church for them is a number one priority. Upon re-entry, confirm all SBC seniors has received their two vaccine shots and have their laminated vaccination card, Upon re-entry, update microphones and sound system to meet 2021 standards to compete with more acceptable virtual Sunday services. Create marketing strategy to bring back excitement and excellent to SBC upon re-entry. Gwendolyn Chandler |
I have received (2) Covid-19 vaccinations. |
I think when the number of cases are being reduced, we should be able to open the church, provided the ventilation system is safe for a large congregation. Since the balcony of the church has never been filled, I think there's enough room upstairs to spread the congregation out without having them fill up the lower level as we did before the pandemic. Entering and exiting the building should have a route that everyone should follow. The choir needs to spread out or may need to be reduced in size until it's absolutely safe to sing together or either provide recorded music until its safe for everyone to sing together. |
I am ready to return, however, I want to be safe. I think we need to continue to follow the science. Social distancing is a must and probably have to walk around for offering and communion. |
Suggest seating in the sanctuary to include the balcony. Overflow may include downstairs as members are eager to see one another. Single service at 10am. Change the service structure to be more member participative (members testimonies of services they have performed), exciting, entertaining (poetry, dancers, guest speakers etc.) Return to having an annual church conference report. Each ministry reporting, a financial report, and pastoral status report to include goals and objectives for the next three years instead of new ones each year. |
I really miss in person service, but I do understand and will cooperate in any way I can. The ministry is doing an Awesome job. |
Consider taking temperature check before entry. Mask required . Outdoor services initially in parking lot |
Make sure everyone that attend service has had the vaccine required |
I'm apart of the music ministry and my concern is that it would be very difficult to sing in a mask. I think there is plenty of room for us to social distance. One suggestion would be to maybe have a few outdoor services to start, then proceed inside with the elders, deacons and praise team before allowing the congregation to enter. Thanks for the opportunity to share. Blessings! |
Will we have Sunday School? How will that be handled to follow safety guidelines? What precautions will be taken for elevator use for those who must use it? All doors should be opened and available to enter and exit. In the beginning, one service is a great start with very limited numbers. If we are having more than one, after service, everyone in the sanctuary, should be released to exit by bays. Those coming to the next service should allow everyone to exit and some cleaning to take place. All restrooms should be checked and cleaned before, during and after service to ensure enough soap, sanitizer and paper supplies. There should be no gathering in the lobby. Enough personnel and time should be alotted between services to clean the areas used. |
If we continue to follow CDC guidelines,, we’ll be ok,, I think having multiple worship services would be good depending on the number of people that take the survey and want to return. |
Please do the research, consult with CDC and other pandemic experts to ensure that the church's reentry is based solely in science and not feelings and economics. I sorely missed church, however, I value the safety, health and wellbeing of others and certainly myself as well. If we do reentry right, we all will be safe and the better for it. I am on almost every Sunday. I still donate at about the same rate as I did previously, maybe more. Thank God that I am able to do so! But I can wait to do it properly and safely so that when we do return it is for got and with risk at a very minimum. Thank you for soliciting the input of our members. God bless and much love!!! |
I currently work in education and we get Covid tested every week and it voluntarily. |
Prefer to remain virtual. |
While I understand that re-entry is important. I think we should continue in prayer, continue to listen to the science. I appreciate what we have been doing as a congregation. I think we have made the right decisions at this point to remain closed. We have been able to pivot to virtuaI worship and that is a blessing; Sunday School, noon day bible study, Growth Groups , Live Stream worship service, etc. We just have to be patient and wait this out. I trust that GOD is in complete control. Thank you for this survey, these are good questions and like that I had the opportunity to answer. Love you Salem Bible Church. Shalom! |
Miss the in person services glad you are requesting our thoughts with the process. My daughter and I were literally discussing this this morning |
Thank you, for your great leadership. |
We could do Parking lot Services. |
I would like to thank my church for an awesome job in this time for our virtue service. |
I would have asked if you had the Vaccine shot? |
Hope too he back soon |
Thank our Leadership for all they do !! |
It is time for the building Salem Bible Church to reopen. This survey is the pre-screening questions to allow entry in-person worship service. Prestin Cautions by Salem Bible Church is the only addition necessary. If social distance with balcony open is overcrowded, a third service need to be added until things return back to normal. The building Church is to help, support, and fellowship. The building church has been closed too long during the biggest crisis we have seen. We are not called on to be scared Christians, but responsible Christians. |
Open the church up |
I trust the leadership of our church to use the safest method for the reopening of our church. |
Thank you for allowing the congregates to provide you with their perspective as you make this important decision for the people. Praying with you.. Before we open, maybe we participate in corporate prayer for guidance. |
WHATEVER IS safe and in keeping with the CDC guidelines and Pastor's recommendations. My attending will be sporadic due to age and the environment of susceptibility. |
Can you please encourage more online giving instead of physical offering envelopes to minimize contact |
Grateful for all my church has done during this pandemic |
I personally do not feel that the church should follow guidelines of reopening from our local government. Our local government has shown that they are only concerned about opening the state up and not what CDC guidelines recommend. |
I am ready to come back to in person worship but not at the risk of myself or a loved one getting Covid. I will continue to worship online until the numbers decrease significantly more. |
I'm not ready to return to worship at this time. I do think everyone who returns should be fully vaccinated unless they are children. |
God First Doorkeepers assist with seating.....how will training and retraining take place. Thanks for the survey.... |
I feel that our Pastors are truly sent by God. And God will guide them in the opening of the church. |
It would be great if Salem became a site which offered the COVID-19 vaccination to its congregants who have yet received it. Also, check for those who have already received the vaccine. |
I welcome re-entering Church, when an plan is in place and safe for us all, but remember no plan is free from, something that may or may not happen, trusting God is, number one and the people that will help with the plan, Amen |
Thanks for asking us. It means a lot. |
Thanks for the survey |
As much as I want to attend church, I beg that we ensure people are vaccinated. I survived Covid, but I’m a long hauler and my life has totally changed. Let us Please be safe. which I know we will. |
I'm looking forward to attending in 2022. |
Congregation should present vaccine cards and information recorded. Church should partner with hospitals or clinics to to host vaccine drive to assist seniors and others to get vaccinated. |
Since so many people don't like taking vaccines, giving members the option to continue worshipping virtually until comfortable is a good way to handle the situation. |
Since covid 19 has hit seniors the hardest, I am reluctant to go around too many people at my age(90) years of age. |
As long as people are still getting sick and dying from COVID-19 and the different variances, I feel it is a high risk for me to take any changes with my health and life at this time especially after seeing many pastors and church members who have continued live church services and have passed away across this nation. |
