Biography of Dr. Joseph L. Williams

“But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”  Acts 6:4

Joseph L. Williams, affectionately known as “Pastor Joe” was born on September 12, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia to Reverend Jasper Williams, Jr. and Mrs. Roberta Williams.

 Joseph professed his Call to the ministry in November of 1998 and preached his first sermon on December 31, 1998.   Joseph’s ministry has progressed significantly in a short period of time.  In addition to his local  travels, Joseph has preached throughout the United States, touching and inspiring all who have an occasion to hear him.  He is a prophetic preacher and a soul-stirring vocalist.He has a heartfelt passion to mentor young preachers by taking them under his wings and helping them to build successful ministries.

 Joseph graduated from Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia, where he was a member of the Junior Achievement, National Honor Society, and the varsity football team for three consecutive years.  He received his BA degree in Finance from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and his Masters degree from the McAfee School of Theology.   The youngest recipient in the Chapter’s history, Joseph was honored with the 2004 Morehouse College National Association Religious Award.  In March, 2009 Joseph received his Doctorate at McAfee School of Theology.

 On July 20, 2003 it was voted by the congregation that Joseph L. Williams would serve as Pastor of Salem Bible Church.  He assists his father, Senior Pastor Jasper Williams, Jr. in fulfilling the vision of Salem Bible Church.

 In addition to his Pulpit responsibilities, Pastor Williams has established several ministries to enhance the membership of Salem Bible Church.  These include the Alpha & Omega, Coaching Academy, Hands of Worship, Health & Fitness, Loves & Hugs, Mentoring, Newsletter, Outreach and Substance Abuse Ministries.
