Who We Are
Canaan Farms is an agri-farming community-based initiative of the Salem Bible Church in Atlanta, GA.
What We Do
This initiative works within underserved communities to provide ongoing access to fresh and local fruits, vegetables, and spices. Canaan Farms also promotes healthy lifestyle behaviors by providing training in healthy food preparation and cooking demonstrations, simplistic food education, and by increasing access to holistic clean living and eating tools with the development and sustainability of urban food systems.
Present Situation
In April 2016, Salem Bible Church designated for Canaan Farms, a special plot of land on its Atlanta campus to plant a fruit and vegetable garden. Already planted in this garden are 30 fruit trees and future plans are for the cultivation of other fruit and vegetables that will be farmed, harvested, and sold by church and community members.
The Memorial Tree Opportunity
Canaan Farms is pleased to announce that 23 of the afore-mentioned planted fruit trees are currently being offered as a named gift opportunity that will allow you to memorialize your family or a family member.
The gift funds raised by this unique opportunity will be used to fund future projects of Canaan Farms.
The contribution to obtain a memorial tree is $300.00 and will include a special marker engraved with the name of your family or family member that will be displayed on the memorial tree for eternity.
How Can I Participate?
First, please know that the memorial trees are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your tree:
1. Complete the Reservation Form
2. Make a full payment of $300.00 by debit/credit card, cash, or check when submitting your Reservation Form,
(or)
Make a non-refundable deposit of $150.00 with the final $150.00 balance to be paid by June 28, 2016.
All payments are to be made at the Coinonia Desk in the lobby at either Salem Bible Church campus.
Once you have secured your memorial tree, you will be notified of the date and time of the dedication service for your memorial.
